Look around you, at people and their problems. Build a fantasy solution. for example: all the foreclosures happening in the US. A widower and his 2 children are being evicted, they're staying in a motel and he discovers a lottery ticket that he forgot about. He just won 25million. How do their lives change? or: A family goes on vacation and their car breaks down in the mountains. They are walking and a person approaches them that lives in the forest. "Stay with me until the storm passes." He says. They discover a miniature town of fairies behind his house. Ideas are easy. Building them into a novel is hard for me. Good luck.

Try to find something unique, something that hasn't been done before. Look at the movie Inception. Dreams are a huge occurrence in everyday life yet no one had created a genuine good idea like in the film till now. Can you think of things that happen every day? And finally, don't use vampires in your novel, people are sick of them. If you need me just reply or send me a message. I would be happy to help whether it is just with some help or a collaboration of sorts.
