I met one of my best friend after she threw herself across the table, grabbed me by the collar and yelled "Ned [my name- someone had just called me]!?! Ned Smith?"
or there is being introduced, not particularly original but fairly effective...

Again, I please urge Bike Shop you to oppose Florida S318. The current
Concern law is working; it just needs more time to accomplish its mandate. This bill would have a large negative
me personally, and would be particularly damaging to the many breeders of RoC animals in the state of Florida.
Bike Store Additionally, the
negative consequences of S318 could potentially extend to greatly worsening the problem it was drafted to solve. The
Reptiles of Bike Trials Concern law, combined with the current efforts by
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and with help from Florida reptile breeders, is more than enough
the python problem in the Everglades.Bike Trial Seller

I met one of my best friends when moving into college. We were both waiting for the elevator. I didn't have any other friends yet, so that night I went to her dorm and we talked. I also met another friend in an elevator.... my school had a lot of elevators...
If you are talking about a freshman moving in - the university I attended hired a moving company to help freshmen move all their junk into the building. Or they could both be moving in at the same time and their stuff gets mixed up. (I don't own a green lamp.... oh, you have my green lamp!...)
They could bump into each other in the cafeteria, he could spill something on her, etc. You know, he turns around to fast and woopsie, there goes the soup. Or the other way around (i.e. she spills on him).
She could be day dreaming while walking around, accidentally wander into a soccer game, and get hit in the head. He just happens to be playing and rushes over to help.
Or, if your character is not a complete klutz.... they could be involved in the same group, or on similar sports teams.

He could accidentally hit her car in the parking lot. Or he could see her tripping up the stairs, and help her get back up, which is how I met one of my friends.

Well, now that is a pretty original idea right there...:P
Does socially odd mean shy? If so, that could make meeting a bit more difficult..
But anywho, try to think of ways you could/have met people in real life. Introduced by a mutual friend? Blind date? Maybe they both hang out at the same place often, and so strike up a conversation? Or they could even meet online.

He could hit her with his car and then carry her to the car and rush her to the hospital, where he sits with her all night till her parents arrive.confused and angry they kick him out and forbid her from seeing him.

Scene: (MC) Girl attends college
Out come: meets "Guy Person", (the new character, no that's not his name, hehe.)
how?: I DON'T KNOW! I can't seem to decide. I want to avoid cliches/unoriginality, but it also am trying not to stress about it.. i's a simple really. although, the person she meets is a little odd.. hmm. but i'm, not sure how to communicate that,. he's not really socially odd... but kinda is at the same time. i know it's a girl meets boy situation, but if it has to happen
i can at least make it as original as possible.
ideas so far....
Meet in a shared class
while accidentally bumping into each other
in campus parking lot
at frat party
in "study group"?
any other ideas?
