yWriter is awesome. It's more than just a word processor, you can add characters and chapters and scenes. Very good for outlining + writing.

I've been using Scrivener, and often put it into full screen mode when I'm writing (which shadows out everything else on your screen except the page you're writing). I like it 'cause it has all the planning tools I need, too.

Hey guys, There are a number of word processors out there designed to streamline your screen and help eliminate distraction. I just started using oomWriter, which I like, and it occurred to me that others might use something similar or even write by hand or on a typewriter. What format do you find is most conducive to creativity and lots of it?
