Thank you for your insights and I did try it tonight and reading it aloud worked. Filled in many of the gaps in the first chapter thanks!!

Good question... for me when I know I need more 'fluff' or detail I usually imagine the scene in my head and make sure to describe everything. If I can't imagine everything I start watching movies, take a walk, or do something that may spark words out of me to describe a setting.
The other 'fluff' to make it flow better... well I usually read my work out loud. If it's not moving smoothly while I'm speaking, I'll add those small words that will add both clarity and smoothness to the paragraph/sentence/idea.

How do you go about writing the fluff...aka the surroundings? I have the tech and the storyline but have been told I need fluff...what is it and how do you write it?
