My Favorites: Reading and Writing

  • Well, It has got to be "War and Peace", hasn't it. A book which changed my life recently was "Carriage Modelling Made Easy" by David Jenkinson. What style! What detail! What grandiose prose!
  • I am between books today. I have just finished "Travels with my Aunt" by Graham Greene. Before that, it was "The Warhorse" by Anne Howland.
  • The bath.
    Bookshops (without necessarily buying!)
  • Well, it has got to be Tolstoy, hasn't it.
  • Well, it has got to be Tolstoy, hasn't it. Or what about Balzac? I shouldn't have minded being Goya either - but not as an old man!
