My Favorites: Reading and Writing

  • See the 'What I'm reading now' section, because I get completely obsessed over a book, claim it's my favorite EVER and then...start a new favorite. However, I *love* anything by Torey Hayden, the Tomorrow series, the Hunger Games and...yeah, I like Sweet Valley High. (The pure awfulness of the books just makes me laugh. And gives me an ego boost about my own writing skills.)
  • Wow... Dark Angel in the Night World series, the Tomorrow series (which. is. AWESOME.), a couple Sweet Valley books (...I know...), various WEbook projects, Beautiful Child by Torey Hayden, the DSM-IV criteria (no, I'm not kidding), the Immortal series (friend lent it to me, not a big fan so far) and...well, any book I pick up and feel like reading for a bit! Until I put it down somewhere and forget where I left it, that is...
  • I love reading whilst curled up in bed, BUT I used to have a library. An actual, full-on, library. (Sure, I was nine, and it was actually a broom cupboard that I appropriated. But it had 600-or-so books in, so I'm counting it as a library.) And snuggling up with a beanbag, a blanket and a huge pile of books was the best way to read, ever.
  • Fiction: Action/Adventure, Children's, Crime, Fairytales, Folklore & Mythology, Family Life & Saga, General, Horror, Humor/Satire, Romance, Short Story, Teen, Thriller/Suspense, Young Adult/Juvenile

  • Oh, God. Too many to list. Right now? Gillian from Dark Angel (Night World series). But only when she's popular and having fun, not when she's fighting an evil angel. (Why do I have the feeling I just ruined the end for some people? Sorry...) Bella from Twilight (you can't deny that she has an awesome life, as annoying as she is), characters from everything I've written so I know if I'm playing them right, Elizabeth & Jessica from SVH (just to understand how someone could be so patronizing/narcissistic respectively), Torey Hayden from...well...all the Torey Hayden books. Non-fiction, but they rock, and have really inspired me. And...Katniss, from The Hunger Games. Why? I have no idea. The murder/post-traumatic stress disorder doesn't appeal (for some strange reason) but...she's awesome. And my favorite character ever. (Until next time I get obsessed with a new series).
