My name is Rebecca and I grew up in Canada, but my background is New Zealand. All my life I have always been pushed around, being the youngest out of 5 kids. Insulted about my hair color (red) at school because there is not a lot of people with red hair. All my life I've been subject to being pushed around and people trying to convince me I’m worthless, and at a lower level then everyone else... that's why I write, to prove those people wrong, to prove to myself too that I am equal to them, if not better. I have never really been a creative person, just when ideas come to mind I write them down and soon enough I have a story.
My family never encouraged my writing; in fact, they are against it most of the time. Saying things to try to discourage me, like that, it was a waste of my time and no one would ever read it. I listen patiently to their criticism patiently--usually In hope to learn something new, or have a new perspective on my work so that I may change things to make my readers enjoy reading.
Life is short, life is predictably unpredictable. Changes happen, times come and go. Impressions are made, some forgotten through the ages, and some remain. I want to create an impression upon the human race that will change peoples lives, and remain known for some time, a few generations at least. Sure, I admit that's aiming high, but aiming high is better then having no aims at all.
I believe anyone can make an impression upon the Earth, weither or not it's good or bad is up to you, no, it's up to the minds of the people who are affected by it.
When you write, not only should you write what feels well to you, but you need to put yourself into the mind of the reader, what will their reaction be to it? What will they feel about the characters? Is it believable? Those are the questions you need to ask yourself if you wish to go far; that's what I want to do. This, is my claim for fame.
