Aspiring writer, who finally picked up the courage to have a go at a life-long ambition: writing a truly epic fantasy adventure.
I am nearly ready to post some of my work on here ... Please bear with me, I'm still crossing 't's and dotting 'i's (better known as wearing out your spellchecker)

My claim to fame: Ermmm ... I won a poetry contest when I was ten years old ... does that count?

What I like to read:

Fiction: Crime, Humor/Satire, Mystery, Sci Fi/Fantasy

Non-Fiction: Humor, Reference, True Crime
Favorite books:
Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, Magician (Ronald E. Feist), everything by Terry Pratchett. the Falco series by Lindsay Davis. The Mars series by Kim Stanley Robinson. The Cadwal Chronicles by Jack Vance. Dune by Frank Herbert etc, etc
What I'm reading now:
Rereading the Disc World novels ... 'Witches abroad' at the moment. Michael Crichton's Andromeda Strain. The back of cerial boxes, my other half's emails (the one's he sends to me that is lol), some wonderful submissions by people on here, junk mail, my cat's collar, a ton of how-to books and everything else that's not nailed down
Favorite place to read:
Everywhere! Although I'm still trying to find a fool proof way of reading in the shower ... ideas anyone?
My other writing:
I have a million notebooks full of stray thoughts, doodles, character sketches, setting descriptions and world-building ideas
What I like to write:

Sir Alan Sugar ... all that money ... sighhhh
Favorite authors:
I really can't be bothered with people who are obsessed with worms .... although I did enjoy the 'Dark Tower' series. Insomnia wasn't too bad either until it became unbelieveable.
