In short

  • Colin Davies was born in Brighton. He started his school life at Downs Infants before moving to Hollingbury where then attended Carden Infants School.

After moving up to the Middle school Colin found that he enjoyed writing stories. His work was soon recognised by his teachers and during this time he had a number of short stories published in the school magazine.

After attending Patcham Fawcett High School Colin continued his studies at Brighton Technical College delving into the world of computers. This however, didn't last very long as in 1988 he made the trip from one seaside resort to another and moved to Blackpool.

It was while he was working as a salesman in the Hi-Fi industry that Colin made the decision to start writing more seriously. From this decision he produced a short film script that, after being picked up by a new film company in the local area, made it to the big screen for a one off performance towards the end of 2000.

Since then Colin has written for a number of web sites as well as another film script and a stage play.

Colin's second film project, a short film called 'I Like It' which he not only stared but also wrote and directed, was show at the first ever TEN event (Ten:10) in Blackpool.

In 2006 he shot a music video for a local band called the Moogs. This promo for their track 'Keep Runnin' was given a public airing at TENTWO . For the next event, TEN:THREE in 2007 he directed the Litterbugs Video 'Laugh Out Loud'

His first book, a children's novel call Mathamagical was released in 2006. As his agent fell on hard times along with the publishing company Colin is now on the look out for a new deal with regards to this title and its follow-up Anagramaphobia.

October 2007 saw the release of The James Bond Files, a book written by Colin and designed & published by Zone Publishing. The book was sold along with a James Bond Calendar in WHSmiths. This title will be re-issued in June as a separate book without the calendar.

Colin is now the official film critic for Radio Wave in Blackpool. His reviews are broadcast during the Ged Mills Breakfast Show on a Friday between 8:00 and 8:30am and online at www.wave965.com
