I'm an old retired radio broadcaster who lives on a small farm in North West Texas.  I've been writing since 3rd grade, and, other than a few poems in anthologies, I've never been published.  That no doubt due to the fact that I haven't submitted much.  I guess you could call me the perpetual editor,  everything I write I edit, and edit, and edit, etc.  I finish the work, I just don't think it's anything anyone would want to read, so I edit it.  Perhaps, I'll actually submit something here and get someone else's opinion of it.  As a DJ, newsperson, and commercial writer and producer, I didn't have the luxury of constant rewrites while I was on the air, so I guess that's why I take my fiction and creative non-fiction so seriously.   You'll notice that I use several names, that's because I write in different genres.  EM Slater writes mysteries, Eva Mae Smith writes poetry, and fantasy, Evelyn Ethridge is my actual name.  It helps me to take a different pen name, just in case I actually get something published.
