In short

  • My dream to be a novelist hit me in fifth grade. I noticed that compared to other kids my age I always attempted to add a little more depth to the stories we wrote for class. Character defects, anti-heroes, I always wanted to make my characters a little more human and my story a little more believable. To this day i still don't know if I can accomplish such but I'm trying. The story of my book I'm writing is long and drawn out much like a book itself. I started the original concept in 6th grade with a rather short venture into a plot, being young i was extremely impatient and chapters flew by at a moments notice. Come 7th grade I scrapped the original in favor of a second take on the story, it was a little more mature and a little more developed. Something at the end of 150 pages, of what I considered a done deal, seemed off. The character although thought out was rather static and boring. I scrapped my second version for a third in 10th grade, favoring a darker tone and a realistic teenager I thought it was a surefire way to churn out a better plot. Yet at the end of this version I still found my plot flawed. The stories were never long enough to fully explore anyone but the protagonist and his motives were too thin. Finally I came to the fourth and current version in my senior year after a long thinking period on spring break. I'm fairly certain this is the book I wished to make so many years ago. It is dark, in-depth, chock full of plot twists and subplots, the character is initially an enigmatic young man (who is modeled after the side of me no one ever sees). I have plans for it but so far I'm still getting the plot set up in about eight chapters of exposition. Trying to describe this book is hard. It is a genre combination of Space-Adventure-Action-Romantic-Fantasy not necessarily in that order. I hope you can help me realize my dream I found eight years ago, the dream to become a good writer who satiates his readers and leaves them starved for more escapades of their favorite anti-hero.
