Fifteen years ago I began what could arguably be considered a successful career in law enforcement; albeit with a brief three year hiatus as a stockbroker at the insistence of my, now, ex-wife. As much as it pains me to admit it, she was right; I needed the break. During my tenure I’ve been assigned to patrol, SWAT and the Criminal Investigations Division as a detective. I am currently the supervisor of the Major Crimes Unit at a local Sheriff’s Office in the Florida panhandle outside of Tallahassee.
