I was trained in Fine Art at the Central School of Art, London (now part of the London University of the Arts) and as an art teacher at London University Institute of Education. I also have a first class honours BA from the Open University, (Psychology, Art History and Curriculum Studies.) In the 1980's I went to Southeast Asia with my husband, leaving behind my career, my name and my car and vowing to make up for this by becoming a full-time painter.I began teaching again when we returned to England and had one daughter. I began writing when my marriage ended in 2005. Since 2007 I have been writing poetry and flash fiction and in 2008 I began performing with my partner, Dónall Dempsey, reading my poetry at open mike sessions.

I am a regular contributor to The Delinquent, a British literary review, and Dogzplot, an online magazine which also published my work in print in "The Dogzplot Anthology" in 2008. I have had a total of eleven poems published by Copeland Books "Myspace Poets" anthologies in 2008.  In 2007 I designed the book jacket for "Tainted Tree" by Jacquelynn Luben, published by Goldenford Press. I am currently making a small edition of hand painted books of poems and illustrations (working title:" Poems from a Balcony on the Amalfi Coast")
