My claim to fame:
Performing 5 foot 2 on the ukulele when I was young.
Seriously, I am a 40-year-old, stay-at-home, born again Christian mom (or domestic goddess is my preference) that has a passion for writing since about the age of 10 and an aspiring writer and working on the next great American novel like you. I've been told most of my life that I'm a writer so I've convinced myself that I am and pursuing my dream out of sheer passion, indulgence and amusement (What can I say? I'm a late bloomer in realizing my talent). I stumbled upon these hallowed grounds in an effort to build my portfolio, gain insight and hone my talent from fellow writers. Got to start some where.
I do not have any formal education, other than my AA degree from community college, and have not attended the quintessential Ivy League school like many people believe to be the stereo-typical writer. I just love to write and known to be a genuine person.
I am married to a wonderful husband of 20 years and we have one son, age 5. We recently relocated from Southern California to Maine in an effort to seek "the quiet life". No, I'm not crazy, just delusional! LOL!
And you?
Favorite Quotes:
When I face the desolate impossibility of writing five hundred pages a sick sense of failure falls on me and I know I can never do it. This happens every time. Then gradually I write one page at a time and then another. One day’s work is all I can permit myself to contemplate and I eliminate the possibility of ever finishing.
- John Steinbeck
What I had to face, the very bitter lesson that everyone who wants to write has got to learn, was that a thing may in itself be the finest piece of writing one has ever done, and yet have absolutely no place in the manuscript one hopes to publish.
