In short

  • I am an artist, writer, and former attorney.  I've taught writing at the U of MN Law School and penned everything from a monthly magazine column titled "The Bitter Quill" to briefs to the US Supreme Court.  When not writing, I like to eat, breathe, and sleep — not necessarily in that order.  I also really love chocolate!

I've had some unbelievable experiences, many of which show up in some form or another in my stories.  A transplant from Los Angeles to Minnesota, my battle with the frigid weather is an epic story of its own, but it also keeps me humble, as do my two young boys, my husband, and my dog, all great fans of my writing.

My dirty secret is that I can't spell or punctuate to save my life.
