In short

  • I am a glass artist, writer, and former attorney; writing-wise, I've done everything from penning a monthly magazine column titled "The Bitter Quill," to teaching legal writing at the University of Minnesota Law School, to writing briefs to the US Supreme Court.

I'm currently working on two novels at the same time, both Y/A, and have finished three others.  When I'm not writing, I love to eat, breathe, and sleep — not necessarily in that order.  I also really love chocolate!

I've had some unbelievable experiences, many of which show up in some form or another in my writing. I'm not crazy about legal dramas, but a handful of my stranger than fiction encounters while clerking for a judge would make a great novel!

A transplant from Los Angeles to Minnesota, my battle with the frigid weather is an epic story of its own, but it also keeps me humble, as do my two young boys, a Coton de Tulear, and my husband, all great advocates when it comes to my writing.

My dirty secret is that I can't spell to save my life.
