I have a Fig Roll and Clarins obsession. And I'm no lady, but I'm all woman.
I used to want to run away to Paris, but I don't speak French. So I ran away to London instead, from the emerald landscapes of my home country in Scotland, where most of my work is set.
My proudest acheievement with my writing is 'Tiger Eyes.' I want to give a voice to a problem that's growing with alarming rate - child abuse. And because my talents lie within my writing, that's my voice and my platform to speak up.
My usual works used to be all about relationships and how to get from A-B within the context of a relationship and to me that got a bit too comfortable. I wanted to challenge myself further and I hope I have done that, I hope I go onto keep challenging myself.
After writing 'Tiger Eyes' I felt I had really found my own voice - in terms of writing. 'Tiger Eyes' gave me the opportunity to tinker around with ideas, with characters and I had a lot of room to move.
I'm married to a wonderful man who loves me for my writing - I keep close ones at bay with my writing because I don't want them to effect what I write...although they do influence it.
- Coming from a line of wonderful story tellers. Lucky me ;)
