In short

  •      I have been a nurse for over 20 years....live in the Ozarks with multiple rescued pets in my little rock house. I seriously enjoy my life and don't have much to complain about except the drudgery of housework and the ever increasing battle against grey hair.  I am known to usually be quite happy, but that is easy to do when you are this spoiled
I have a little sister from Big Brothers/Big Sisters and two young nieces whom I adore, and about a million friends.  I am a Christian.
I write about everyday life and how it affects me,  often finding myself in the most bizarre of circumstances, which leaves me with an opportunity to tell a story.

Even in my 40's now, I am still a bit of a rocker when it comes to music...but sadly I find most lyrics seem to be a bit vulgar these days, and usually the same words have been sung a zillion times you will find when you get to my age.   So as a CHALLENGE to all you song writers out there--remember you can use your poetry, emotions and especially your word choices in a unique form that will showcase your music, and freshen it up for the rest of the world.  I have listed a video link and am including the lyrics as an example--- an unusual word, a deeper meaning to the message, no cursing or vulgarity required to espress the mesage..............combined with just the right sound.  See what I mean.........
                                                                   Be inspired!!!!          M.

                                                            Cumbersome----Seven Mary Three    1996

She calls me Goliath and I wear the David mask
I guess the stones are coming too fast for her now
You know I'd like to believe this nervousness will pass
All the stones that are thrown are building up a wall
I have become cumbersome to this world
I have become cumbersome to my girl

Id like to believe we could reconcile the past
Resurrect those bridges with an ancient glance
But my old stone face cant seem to break her down
She remembers bridges, burns them to the ground
I have become cumbersome to this world
I have become cumbersome to this girl

Too heavy too light, too black or too white, too wrong or too right, today or tonight
    Cumbersome
Too rich too poor, shes wanting me less and Im wanting her more
    The bitter taste is cumbersome

There is a balance between two worlds
One with an arrow and a cross
Regardless of the balance life has become
    Cumbersome

  •    Dan the Baboon at a friends zoo once had quite the crush on me.  Creepy...... but strangely flattering.

  • I seem to be rather unimaginative and write best about things I know first hand........
lot's of narrative mostly true accounts.....altho I have been known to embellish slighlty for impact.
I have tried my hand at poetry....but find I am not well educated nor much of a traditional stylist...no rhyme or reason to my pattern, but all critique has been gentle so far.
