In short

  • I am a Christian woman with the soul of a bohemian and the heart of an Irish Traveler.  I love Irish music, reading, writing (obviously, why else would I be here?) and musical theater.  My favorite musicals are WICKED, RENT, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables.  I speak (and read) French, and am in the process of trying to teach myself Latin (which isn't going so well at the moment..) I am attending graduate school, working on a master's and then a PhD in Early Modern British/Irish history, and I plan on becoming a professor.  I am also visually challenged, use a white cane, and read large print (although I can read regular font, it just tires my eyes out easily.) I don't drive, so I take the bus everywhere, which is awesome because it gives me time to think about my novel.  Peace, God bless, Slainte!

  • I was born at 24 weeks and 2 days, given a 10 % chance at survival, and spent seven months in the NICU before I came home. The doctors warned my parents that there was a possibility of many other problems, but, 23 years later, here I am, perfectly fine except for my visual impairment. :)
Also, I sailed a sailboat for 1 1/3 hours unassisted, with the captain sitting up in the prow. It was awesome and I hope to become the first visually impaired sail boat captain.
