Hello everyone,
When I was younger I suffered from mild dyslexia that I have recently learned to overcome. I concluded that perhaps reading was not my forte and writing was. I gave it a shot with a few short stories, then fell in love with the whole process.Yes, it may take slightly longer for me to spill out words on paper and have them be perfect, but I find complete joy during frustrating parts. I know I'm working towards something I'm proud of and thoroughly enjoy.
I have finished The City's Whispers in hopes of getting it published as a trilogy. I have already laid out the plot of the second book, Klarion Cries, and am in the process of writing it. I am truly proud of my story and I feel like I owe it to my characters to have other's read about their lives.
I believe inspiration can come from all around us, even in the places you least expect it. You just have to listen to it when it's screaming at you.
I'd like to share what gave me the inspiration. Usually when it rains, I lay my head near the window on the opposite side of my bed in order to feel the breeze and hear the drops hitting my window sill. It's a place where I can clear my mind and just be peaceful. On one special night, while I was doing this, I had a very vivid daydream about this young helpless girl, named Faye, who had strange dreams of shadows trying to kill her. Little did she know they were more than nightmares, they were more than messages ... they were real. Can Faye and her life-long best friend Troy, outlast the Black Banshee's hunt to kill them? Can they win back their city of Nasper? Can their love for one another blossom during this chaos?
Summary
Eighteen-year-old Faye Hex does not know much other than her life in Rhode Island, Central Falls orphanage. The only positive result of being taken by horrid foster parents is that she is reunited with her life-long best friend, Troy Tucker, after he was taken four years earlier. Together, they are able to “envision” and visit a worn-down, abandoned city, filled with secrets about their families and Black Banshee’s that seem to want nothing, but end their precious lives. Faye and Troy fight as a team for their survival between the wailing Black Banshee’s in the city they cannot help but be drawn too and life with their malevolent foster parents. Faye can’t help but feel there is more they must do than just staying alive and she knows Troy holding her in the dark about everything when she begins to see both worlds collide. - We're all fragile in every way
