Hello everyone,
A little of my history. I am forty-three years old, married with two daughters. The oldest is out on her own, while the youngest is in her first year of high school. She is an exellent student and a wonderful athlete. At the present time she is involved with a travel volley ball team as well as playing for her school. My kids are my life.
My wife and I married twenty-one years ago. At the time I worked construction in my family's constuction business. I loved to do about anything in the great out doors; hunting fishing, camping etc.
Life seemed to be dealing me a decent hand until the fall of 2000. Without any warning, I suffered a gran-mal seizure and was later diagnosed with a neurological condition that was evident in my mother's side of the family. Since that time I have been in and out of a wheel chair, using a cane and crutches. As it would be with anyone, this was a very difficult adjustment. If the truth be told, it is still something that I struggle with. Not only did my legs give me problems, but tremors became evident in my hands. At the time I was a decent artist but the shaking hands put a hault to that.
Though these were frustrating times, there were several clouds that had silver linings. I love being around kids and was able to substitute teach at my daughters grade school. Becomming involved with her on that level was something that I know that I was very fortunate to experience.
I was also able to coach my daughter through her soft ball years; another wonderful experience.
I guess the final bonus was that it gave me the time to write. This is not my first experience writing. When I was much younger, I read nearly every western written by Louis Lamour. So I decided to write a western. I nearly finished the book before being to busy stepped in the way and I set it aside. Now my writing taste have spread to other areas as well. I enjoy writing mystery and paranormal topics as well.
I will be completly honest and say that I do not know if I have what it takes. I really have no training, other than what is required to graduate. I am less than the best when it comes to grammer, etc. But what I do know is that I have ideas roaming around through my head. When I start writing, it just seems to flow. So I guess I will sit back, write, and see what happens. LOL
Looking forward to getting to know you'all. (Yep, that was southern)
