I'm located in Portland Oregon. My husband Eddie and I moved out here after I finished up coursework for my MFA at Columbia. Eddie and I live in a two bedroom house with our son, Demitrius Tolstoy Oberon Evans. He's sixteen months and is learning how to run, sleep for eight straight hours, eat Cheerios, and say, "Boom!" My top five books: Lolita, Slaughterhouse Five, To The Lighthouse, Blindness, Love In The Time of Cholera.

I'm working on a novel called The Unwritten Rules of Hockey.

The story of my life in five sentences:
I grew up Mormon but now I'm an atheist.
I met my husband, who is French-Canadian, on top of a pool table in South Korea.
We named our son after a character from A Midsummer Night's Dream: Demitrius.
I'm scared of small towns.
