Satyr

  • South Downs, England
  • Richard
  • English
  • Various schools in different countries.  London, Macquarie, Sussex, Chichester and Portsmouth Unis.
  • I am dual nationality British/Australian.

I can usually make people laugh but I am not sure about trying serious stuff except academic papers. I have severe doubts that I have any talent but sometimes just have to write things down so now I am trying to write creatively again. However, I am always conscious of my failings.

I have worked for the Australian Government and have dropped out (and in) several times,  I have been a jackeroo and worked in mineral exploration.  Mostly I have taught and lectured.  I am passionate about the ecology and animals.  I love horses, dogs and my family.

I strive to be a decent human being.  A warning: I am a cynical old atheist, do not expect me to be kind to superstition or sloppy romanticism.

I tend to accept friend requests but I am becoming overstretched by demands for reviews.  I try to review people who ask nicely but I do need some time for my own work.  I do suggest that you check my work to see if I am the right person to review your work before asking.

  • Wow, if I keep writing and giving good feedback I may earn top honours (yet again)!
