  • Freelance writer, poet, wife, mother, teacher, maid, clown, chauffeur, nurse, creator, planner, Zumba dancer, chef, laugh-lover.

A poet at heart, I feel the urge to write every day. Not everything that comes out is worth keeping so I search for that balance between ordinary and spectacular, recklessness and control, beauty and brokenness.

  • My claim to fame is both odd and wonderful: I survived the crash of Delta 191 in DFW and could not resurrect my broken 'wings' for many years. The feathers have all begun growing back in, to my great and absolute amazement!

While attending an international weekend poetry conference in 2003, I walked away the startled-yet-happy recipient of a $20,000.00 Grand prize for a poem titled, "Love Letter to India."
