In short

  • I had some poetry published (in a local poetry journal) as a child.  I wrote the "official" poem for our Junior Prom.  That is the extent of my "professional" writing.  Pretty lame.

    I've always loved to write.  Especially poetry.  I think I'm too ADD to tackle a novel.  I don't know if I have any talent, but it will be a fun experiment.  I hope the feedback is honest, but not brutal :)

My Favorites: Reading and Writing

  • Rose Madder, Gerald's Game, The Stand, Needful Things, All That Remains, Much Ado About Nothing (I know -- a play), Poetry of William Butler Yeats, Emily Dickinson, Animal Farm.
  • The Book of Fate
  • On the beach or in my bed at night.
  • Scarlett O'Hara -- but only at the beginning of the novel where I could get a taste of what it was like to be the belle of the ball with men falling at your feet.  The rest of it -- Civil war, slavery, etc. isn't something anyone would want to experience -- not even for a day.
  • Stephen King, George Orwell, Shakespeare (mostly the comedies), Patricia Cornwell
