I was an Australian bank manager, but now I'm teaching English in China. If it gets any stranger than that, I'd love to hear about it!
My youth was spent buried in fantasy novels. I was fed a steady diet of Tolkein, Donaldson, Brooks and Feist. Modern fantasy hasn't touched me the way older fantasy novels did. I never really connected with Harry Potter, or Game of Thrones. Maybe it's my age, or maybe the genre has changed. I pine for the epic fantasy that started with Tolkein. Where has it gone?
- I just made the final editor's desk on Authonomy! It's a shame the site is about to close. Oh well, at least I get a Harper Collins review ...

Damn it. See above. Maybe they should combine the books/authors question.
