In short

  • Writing my blogs and publishing this manuscript.

In the past several years I have been evolving as a person.  The changes have been dramatic and wonderful as I’ve come to embrace them.  My new role(s) are becoming clearer to me as new paths along my journey expose themselves.  I am just your average person who works every day and I love what I do for a living (IT Project Management), however, I find that has its own place as the means to support me.  I found that what defines me more as an individual is the writing where I pour my soul and rip open my heart for all to read. To say that I know my life has been blessed in so many ways is to sound trite, but with all the challenges I’ve over come, with the pain and heartache I’ve endured, life continues to deliver beauty with every turn.

I write about my experiences, the happenings from my past to my present with hopes that something in my words resonates with you.  I am an open book and try to see both sides to every situation (good, bad or indifferent).  Realizations years ago that even with all of the many atrocities within my life, this life is what I make it.  The person I yearn for is present and being forged on a daily basis.  I only hope that as you read there may be a situation that can help a few of you. My experiences and travels have been the greatest teacher with the knowledge that I have lived a full life.  I only hope that you may find some tiny bit of wisdom, familiarity and zest for life within my blogs and manuscripts.  Please keep in mind that life is an ever changing force and we all have a place within the warmth of its grasp.  We get to choose how, when and where we contribute our piece to the puzzle of life.  What will you’re contribution be?

Several years ago in an attempt to squelch the agony of my shattered heart, I found that a voice for writing.  The enjoyment, peace and serenity I never thought I would find in this lifetime, has all become companions as I sit typing on this keyboard.  I started writing in order to get over the break-up of a great relationship and subsequently the extremely harsh results of its demise.  The writing was deeply personal and I never considered publishing it, however, after a mistaken encounter my manuscript was found by a co-worker who enjoyed the little bit she read.  She encouraged my creative talents and with other readers of this manuscript I was energized by my new craft.  I am currently working on three manuscripts that I hope to publish as well as the many posts within my blogs (www.tmdobson.wordpress.com).  My life seems to provide an immense amount of fodder feeding both the stories I write about in my blogs as well as to inspire my manuscripts

I must explain that my blogs are written from my own perspective and those experiences that tantalize, mesmerize as well as scare the hell out of you.  There will always be two sides to every story and while I try to understand the other side of anything I experience; the other people involved may see things completely differently from me.  A perfect example is you and twelve friends are waiting to enjoy dinner at this great sidewalk café.  As you wait to be seated, everyone turns just in time to witness a horrible crash in front of you between two cars.  You call for the police and ambulance and as rescue people take care of the occupants of the two vehicles, two officers start asking you and your associates what you saw.  As the officers investigate, they find twelve different stories with few commonalities between them.  You see, we recall things that we see, hear, smell, touch and taste from our own preconceived notions about life.  Our experiences and our past dictate how we store our experiences.  Because, neither of our lives are exactly the same, we store and recall those shared experiences differently.  Due to this fact, it is almost impossible that we return the same resounding details when solicited.  It is funny if you think about it… as well as eye opening once it sinks in.  We can see, hear, smell, taste and feel the exact same things, but have two different ways of interpreting those stimuli.  Therefore, the stories I tell you are from my perspective, from my recollections and how I remember them to be.  The other people in these stories may see the facts completely differently and I ask you to always remember there are two sides to every situation.  I go out of my way to see both sides; however, you are reading my perspective solely.

I also find myself in turmoil over the current state of affairs with our great nation as with the world around us.  Please read my thoughts in my blogs and let me know if you agree or disagree and why.  I find nothing more satisfying than debating opposing facts that allow each of us to be the free people we, if only within our minds.  However, there is nothing that enrages me more than to have someone else telling me how their ideology necessitates change in my life.  If my life does not harm you, who are you to tell me I must change and not be exactly who I am.

I am a 41-year-old gay man who loves sex with other men – and am amazingly good at making a man feel alive in the course of a sexual encounter.  There are many facets to my life and if you chose to judge me solely on my homosexuality, you are too small minded for me to worry over.  My life is about being a support to those who need it while my family and friends support me.  If you cannot be there for those around you, leave them alone.

My Favorites: Reading and Writing

  • There are so many favorites, but as cheesy as it sounds, the Harry Potter series, Angels & Daemons, Davinchi Code and far too many to list here
  • Santorini Greece is my favorite place for everything....reading is but a singular pleasure I enjoy anywhere....anytime.
  • I wish to truly be myself...not scared of how to pay the bills or put food on the table...able to give to others from my heart and my soul as I enrich your life.
  • Any author who can draw you into their characters and within their scenes.  If I can find myself within your pages, I am hooked and will be back for more.
