In short

  • In the past I've written a sitcom, a children's novel, about half a dozen poems and countless short stories - but my New Year's resolution for 2009 is to write a novel that I've been mulling over for in my head for quite a while.

It's a crime fiction novel, based in Glasgow, dealing with such things as love, death, torture and revenge. I'm trying to plan it as methodically as possible, so that I don't get bogged down in semantics when it comes to the actual process of writing.

  • I had three bylines in the Daily Record in November 2008. I'd been making speculative efforts to get into journalism and those articles were the result.
