My claim to fame:
My name is Martin and I have been married for seven years to my lovely wife Kendra. Currently we have no children. My wife can’t wait to have children. I on the other hand do not envy anyone who has children.
Even though my wife and I have never had children of our own, we were therapeutic foster parents for more than five years. This means that we opened our home to children with very server mental health and behavior disorders.
I have been a Christian for all of my life and am currently enrolled in Seminary at a well known Christian school. I do not have any special circumstances surrounding my conversion. To be honest, I do not even remember the exact time or moment when I became a Christian, but I can say that I have always remembered having a strong desire to know God and teach His word to others so that they may know Him as well. I believe that my sense of ministry or my earthly calling is to help hurting people.
I am a Social Worker, more specifically, an In-Home Protective Service Social Worker. This means that I work to help keep children safe in their home with their families.
I currently reside in Philadelphia where I have lived for all of my life but my parents are from Macon GA. I have to admit that even though I was born in the city I feel that I have more of a country soul.
I have completed two manuscripts and I am currently revising one of them which is a high fantasy novel that I started writing when I was about fourteen and that I hope to complete before I am sixty;) My target audiances for my books are teens and young adults.
I do not consider myself to be a writter, not a good one anyway, but I do feel that I have very good ideas for stories. I do not believe that there are any new story ideas to be told, but I do believe that there are interesting and alternative ways on how to tell a story which has already been told. I like to write or at least try to write stories that make people think. My stories usually center around Christian themes without making people feel like I am preaching to them.
