In short

My Favorites: Reading and Writing

  • The Atrocity Archives by Charles Stross.
  • In bed, baby.
  • David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, Harlan Ellison, Michael Connelly, Stephen King, George Pelecanos, Elmore Leonard, Chuck Palahniuk (though he's not all good, space monkey), Jerry Stahl, Kurt Vonnegut, Phillip K Dick, J.K. Rowling, Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, Charles Stross, China Mieville, Aaron McGruder, Bill Waterson, Scott Adams, Jhonen Vasquez, Alan Moore, Mary Roach, Anne Rice, Emily Dickenson, Alice Sebold, Edgar Allen Poe, George Orwell, Mark Bowden and Roger Erbert. I also enjoy Biographies on Roman Emperors, Founding Fathers, Ancient Warlords, Illicit Drugs and The History of Poker. The only thing worse than the banality of Jack Kerouacs' On The Road, a boring tale of an empty man on a pointless, ill-defined quest is Jane Austin, the 19th century equivalent of daytime drama. Ugh.
