I am currently 17 and live in a small town of 10,000. I used to live in LA up until I was 13. My mom came and lived with us for 3 months and then went back. Now it's just me and my brother and my dad. My mom visited me for my fifteenth and sixteenth birthday. We have visited her for the last couple of Christmases. My parents are still together in a weird way. These have been the worst years of my life basically. I've been through a lot though and most of the events that have happened to me so far have inspired my writing. I write about what I know and there's nothing I know better than my life. My life may not be the most interesting but something interesting happens to me every once in a while. I've only had one real boyfriend that I've actually kissed. After that it's all could've beens, almost lovers is what I call them. All my life it's been school. Everything I did revolved around school. But now that I'm older I've noticed that everyone around me and everyone I know is paired up. It's just me now and I'm not even kidding. Everyone in the whole school has someone but me. I just want someone to love and to love me back.
I started The Love Story when I first moved. For some reason I just kept wishing and thinking that maybe somebody I knew lived there. I imagined how we would meet and how our relationship would start. Obviously it didn't happen but it didn't keep me from writing it. Instead i met some guy and went out with him for about eight months when he dumped me because he kept cheating on me. It was heartbreaking but I got over it. It was during that summer when I was 14 that I actually started writing it out on paper. I didn't have my own computer so paper was the best I could do.
It went through 3 drafts before I actually started typing it. The third is the closest to the one I've typed. The first one never got past my main characters entering the school together after reuniting. The second one was too happy and I stopped writing shortly after a birthday. The third one was a little more dark and the only reason I stopped writing it was because I had gotten my own laptop for my 16 brithday.
I'm only four foot eight so obviously I've been teased a lot. No one really believes me when I tell them I'm seventeen. Everyone thinks I'm 13 and the sophomores think I'm a freshman.
