In short

  • There’s too much to me (being that I am human and therefore infinitely complex) to sum up in a paragraph. I can not in good conscience throw some random bits of information in this little box and  hope it somehow captures my essence, because a few tidbits isn’t really enough information to get to know anyone on any deep level.
However, I will attempt (and probably fail) to satiate your need for a blurb.

I am Mira Rock and I am, you can be sure, not the most fabulous writer. My work will not take your breath or render you speechless, the best I can hope for is that it will make you come to know me or yourself better than you did before, or that it will at the very least help you pass the afternoon in a somewhat-pleasant fashion.
I have been known to be happy-go-lucky, beautiful, sweet, kind-hearted, maternal, talented, loving, playful, nurturing, and generous, but I have also been known to be cold, hard, ugly, rude, without manners, without skill, and even sometimes cruel. Who I am depends on who you are. I can not claim to be saintly nor can I claim to be completely without virtue. I am, as we are all, flawed.
Speaking of flaws, my grammar is less than perfect *so* I would ask you to forgive me any failure to punctuate or capitalize or whatever it may be, I am learning. (Correction is welcome and appreciated!)

But you can’t really get to know me from any of that, can you? If you want to, there’s a “send message” box below my picture and it works perfectly well! New friends and writing buddies are always appreciated!

  • I've never claimed fame, nor do I plan to... I write for the pleasure of it!

  • Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda. (I must admit I never actually finished this book, put it down a chapter before the end, because I was afraid the end might disappoint and ruin the book for me-the thought of which I couldn't stand.)

The Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams. (A collection of Douglas Adams essays put together after his death... My favorite of all these essays would have to be "Is There A Fake God?" ..."Little Dongly Things" is a close second. This man speaks the truth.)

Luxe by Anna Godbersen. (A romance series which I devoured in a matter of hours. It is, perhaps excessively, girly... and very much a guilty pleasure of mine.)
  • George Orwell's 1984 is next on my list, long past due to be read by me.
  • If the weather is nice, outside on a blanket-if this is not the case, curled up under as many covers as I am able to find.
  • Fiction: Children's, Coming of Age, Erotica, Experimental, Fairytales, Folklore & Mythology, Gay/Lesbian, General, Horror, Literary, Romance, Sci Fi/Fantasy, Short Story, Women's Fiction

    Non-Fiction: Biography, Memoir/Narrative Non-fiction, Parenting & Family, Sex & Relationships

  • Mystique, without question.
  • In all honesty, it would be entirely impossible for me to choose.
