In short

  • I have recently published my first novel, 'The Cicada', a science fiction/crime story set primarily in Melbourne, Australia, in the year 2450. The sequel, 'A Death in the Making', is essentially a murder mystery, located mainly in Queensland, Australia, and is now published as well.

Available worldwide, one website distributing my books is Lulu - see: http://stores.lulu.com/ingemeldgaard

They are also available in Australia from this website: http://www.digitalprintaustralia.com/bookstore/fiction

Electronic versions are available from the iBookstore, Barnes & Noble and here: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/5402

In recent years, I have further developed my interest in art by joining the fabulous deviantArt community, concentrating mainly on photography and digital art. So, far, I have made more than 800 submissions to this site and created portfolios of my better works, some of which are available as prints - see http://redmatilda.artworkfolio.com

Writing poetry has been an occasional compulsion since I was a teenager. Most of my pieces are on the Scribd site, together with a number of short stories:

An odd little claim to fame is related to the manner in which my family emigrated to Australia. We were passengers on a Norwegian ship named 'Skaubryn', which became famous for sinking one year later, with the loss of only one life. The family story and the story of the ship can be seen on this website:

Other than that, I was active in the environmental/conservation movement here in Australia from 1981 to 1991, and in the process, became known to many people. Although I am unable to be physically active any longer due to health reasons, I still support various organisations financially and with lobbying.
