  I am prefacing this with a note:  Please do not write me with hate mail.  I'm not interested in seeing your deficiencies and will delete anything that is sent my way.
  
  I edit books for a living.  I spend hours going over grammatical flaws, technical drawings, and MLA format.  I am brutally honest, so if you're here to get nothing but glowing reviews, you're in the wrong business.  This is a tough field, so if you want to do well, you've got to be flexible and really take my words seriously.  I will never comment to be mean, only to slap you out of your current state of self-delusion.  This being said, i do have a somewhat acerbic sense of humor, so at times I sound mean, please diffuse the meanness and inset a smiley face.  Unless you've harassed me, in which case I was trying to be mean. 
  
  The truth is, I want everybody to do well, but you've gotta work for it.  If you want a more detailed addendum to my vague minimalist comments, then please contact me.  Don't come to me with negative crap, I'm just trying to help you.  Can't take the heat?...you know the rest.
  
  P.S. Don't try to convince me your work is good because others have said so.  your best bet is to go back and make it better than even they have said, because if I like it then, you'll get my furious support.
  
  Oh and posting negative things on the projects I start will only look juvenile.  If you want to argue with me, be perspicacious and intelligent and don't argue as if I am fifty IQ points below you, I can read between lines and tell if that's where it's going.

• My claim to fame: At my high school graduation, i told the head of the school board that she was an idiot with a fifth grade education that couldn't make a rational decision if she had to choose between her infant and a diabetic clown.  I didn't know it was her.  I was just talking about the school board to a lady standing next to me.  I later found out why she gave me a dirty look and walked away.  She thought I was being passive aggressive.  Nope, she was just an idiot.  Never mind why, but she is.
  
  I also once told my manager to go back to his little table and shut the fuck up.  it was my last day after all, and tyranny is bad.
