In short

  • I worked in bookstores most of my adult life because I loved the smell of new books.   When I became a cancer survivor in 2003, I discovered I could no longer say, “One day I will ”  I learned to say, “Today I am. ”

I began in Canada, hibernated in California for a long time, and  now I spend my time in Italy .
My stories and photographs are close ups of what I’m thinking about and doing today.
    Right now.

  • My essays and stories have appeared in a number of anthologies including the recently published “ Voices of Breast Cancer” as well as  “ Something that Matters: Life, Love and Unexpected Adventures in the Middle of the Journey. ”  My work has also been published in the Contra Costa Times, The Monthly, Today’s Caregiver, VerbSap, Martha Stewart.com , Intent.com,  The Canadian Jewish News and The Florentine.
