  • People have always looked on me as a peacemaker, a go-between. I'm the one who never showed fear, stepping between two in a bar-fight, to break it up, and make the participants shake hands. People came to me for a friendly, listening ear, and I always helped them out.

    The Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling.
    The Bible.
    The Left Behind series, by Timothy LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.
  • The Incarnations of Immortality series, by Piers Anthony. I've read it dozens of times, over the years. These are my favorite books.
  • In the park, on a nice autumn morning, when my daughter's in school,  and no one else is around.

    Or my bedroom, in the middle of the night.
