In short

  • After seven months of traveling the world with my husband, he is back to work building power lines and I am delving into writing my first book. While Washington State is our home base, we recently spent two months in South Dakota and just moved to the Bay Area, following the work as gypsy linemen. We live out of a 26-foot camp trailer and enjoy the simple life of sipping wine and feeling like we're camping all the time (because we are).

I graduated from Washington State University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Sinking into a good book is a devilish past-time of mine, and Jodi Picoult's works are my current obsession. My dream is to write travel books that are more about the process and emotions than the minor details like hotels and restaurants. Besides reading and writing I am an exercise and outdoor junkie, whether it's running, biking, hiking, kayaking or tennis.

  • My claim to fame is being a quitter. I quit my job so my husband and I could spend seven months seeing the world. We traveled through Europe, Thailand, New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, Peru and Central America, I was able to learn a little more about myself and what is important in life.

When it comes to writing, my byline has made it into a couple publications and Web sites in the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle Weekly, The Spokesman-Review, Eve Magazine, Northwest Woman Magazine, The Mid-Columbian and gozags.com.
