In short

  • I had a rough time in youth - I won't go into detail, though my work here is largely autobiographic. Pain can reveal tiny jewels - a life can be both hell and heaven. Its up to us to do with it what we can, regardless of obsticals. I haven't always known that - or beleived it. I certainly do now.

Try out my first novel; 'Finding Esta' (which i am constantly editing and changing. Or there are many poems to read on my projects, and on many other's? And i have a short story project for you to peruse too, should you wish to.

And please do look at my poetry - they are slices of myself.

Im excited to be part of this community and hope i can give and gain valuable experiences.     Shah. X  :-)

  • I'd prefer to be known for being talented and kind hearted. That would be rather special.
I have two of my poems in two anthologies. :-)
I came second in Writers Guild Comp for short story on Post Apocolyptic theme. Hurrah!!  Then I came third in the next comp, 'Sleight of Hand'. But i came nowhere in VII ;-(

Ive met Sean Connery (fantastic gent), Princess Diana (beautiful and graceful), & lots of other small time celebs who few care about.

  • Anything by Patrick Gale. He does character so very well... im always hooked!

I love crime novels too and Patricia Cornell does it very well!

I also love the Bronte sisters and most Period drama's.

And right now im reading too much vampire horror and romance! Im a bit addicted to Charlaine Harris!

My favorite poet is Maya Angelo.
  • The latest Patricia Cornell... i like the pull of a good crime novel.

Recently I'm reading vampire novels as rsearch for my spooky book. Trues Blood novels, Twilight, Vamp Diaries. Various others too.

My favorite poet is Maya Angelo, which I'm reading on and off always. And I am listening to my two faves Bod Dylan and Van Morrison - with a bit of blues for good measure!

Or Paloma Faith and Nina Simone for a bit of jazz.; 70's rock/funk, 90's indie; 00's rock . Throw in a little blues too for good measure - oh yeah!
  • A park on a sunny day. A cafe in a sweet little village whilst eating cream teas. On a train or in a car or on a plane on a long journey. Anywhere else i can really. I like to feel part of two worlds at a time... it feels like I'm surrounded by the world I'm in, but immersed in the world that I'm reading about... the one that lives on paper and in your immagination.

Its like a secret that only you and the author share, whilst everyone else is merely looking on wondering what's going on. ;-)
  • I love writing poetry.... please read some of it and participate in the projects! All comments and tips taken on board.

Finding Esta. My 1st novel Its spooky and has layers! ;-). x

And a short story project - please read and review if you have the time and inclination.I write these to try to learn about writing. I think ive learned a lot since i began short story challenges. ITs a great way to learn the craft, and to enjoy ones self during the journey. Shah XXX
