I live in a cohousing community in Corvallis, OR with my husband and our 3-year-old son and six-month-old daughter. My full-time career is mom, but I dabble in writing on the side, mostly in my journals and in my head. I have experience binding books, proofreading, and copy-editing, and my life's dream has been to make a living working with words.

Favorite authors: King, Twain, Austen, Heinlein, Bradbury, Tolkien, Tolstoy, Nabokov.

Favorite magazines: The Sun, Mothering.

I have a great deal of experience with midwifery and natural childbirth. I watched my mom give birth to my three younger siblings at home, unattended by anyone but my dad; I helped a friend give birth at home after she found out her insurance wouldn't cover a midwife; and I gave birth at home twice, attended by midwives.
