We all get old, the abuse, war, happiness, love and the loss of someone we know, It contains illness of drinking, death, gangs, drugs, violence, hate. It is a book of learning from our mistakes and what true friendship can mean, a book that can bring you knowledge to share, and allow you to experience the life of others as you read. My name is Frances Rodriguez. My mother and father are from San Juan, Puerto Rico. My family came to New York to live with relatives. They were very poor, and my mother was a very sick woman who was not able to take care of me and my brothers and sisters. I was born April 14, and at the age five, I was placed in a home for kids. I do remember one of the homes on Long Island, New York. I write this book in the memory of my sister, Jenny Rodriguez. She taught me that a person can use their mind and create many things. My creation was writing poetry, to place my thoughts and my feelings into words so that a person can imagine and feel the things I do, and with this I may be able to help others. So open your mind and open this book to see and feel the things I do.</p>
