"Welcome to the real world, Florence." Her eyes shone with tears, her fingers curled into fists. "We've been waiting for you."

Florence Cory didn't hate her life, and certainly didn't love it. She merely lived it. Becoming tired of looking to the future that she was unsure would even come, she doesn't take her connection flight to Virginia and stays in Detroit.
