I wished you would have added more dialogue but I thought that the story line was beautiful. Consider describing the rose. How the petals were made of velvet or that the stem had marks from where thorns once were, symbolizing Amy and Fred's care for Amy. But I did like the story. It kept my attention until the end. Just use more description and dialogue. Some questions to ask yourself when revising: How did Amy look? What were some attributes that the rose and amy have in common? Did the pink rose represent Amy and Fred's love? Why did they love eachother? What impact did Amy's mom death have on the dad? What type of mom was she to Amy? How did Fred's family feel about the relationship? Just a few but I think that you are working with an original storyline. Keep working on it.
