Democracy became flawed, as only the richest could afford to be leaders. Soon, the richest stayed rich and they stayed in control until the point where Democracy became an Empire. There was the very rich, and the richest of the rich were considered Royalty. There was the Middle Class, who spent all their time typing up reports in tiny cubicles who knew nothing about life. Those that became disabled in some way or could not support themselves in the middle class were forced to abandon the Empire, technology and the easy way of living, and they were called Barbarians.
Over time, the Empire began to hate Barbarians and had fooled itself into thinking that Barbarians were nothing but animals, not worthy as being called the same species as the upper class and they were hunted for sport. One Barbarian, however, is spared from being killed and is placed in the upper class and in the middle of a political war to prove that Barbarians are not animals and can fit into society.
Fridian is this Barbarian, and although he has strong political allies, he has even more powerful political enemies, enemies who plan to set Fridian up for a fall. The few Billion Barbarians and Middle Class depend on how he reacts, or their cruel treatment will continue forever.
