Hi there, am new, like everyone else at one point. I've been wrting for a long time and am trying to get my ideas on paper (or the computer) but am a little lazy sometimes. Anyway, I would love to be published one day, but not for fame. My dream is to one day walk into a bookstore and see my name on the shelves. I don't care if it's the best seller shelf or the bargain shelf, as long as I can contribute something to the community then it's fine with me. But before I can do that, I came here because I would like some help. Editing and also wondering what people think of my work. I have a few poems and short stories on here right now, and am currently working on a long story. Any type of comments would help, good or bad, because they will all help me in the long run. Thanks.

New to the site as well. I am an inspiring author and hope to be a creative writing professor, one day, who knows what day that will actually be, probably a Tuesday. Anyways I stumbled upon this site while biding time at work. Cool, I can surf while working, right? Wrong! I'd rather be actually working but yeah whatever. I write fiction, poetry, am currently taking a creative non fiction class as well as fiction. I actually have class tonight and am not too thrilled with what I wrote but they're just writing exercises..still working on my first fiction piece. It's slowly coming together, maybe I will post it to get some feedback. I live in San Diego and love cats although I don't have one but plan to have way too many one day!

How I love to see the horse with wings. That can fly so free, with its strong wings flapping in the air to help them glide across the sky. So as we do with what we write. I am glad you had stopped by to take the time to read what I had to write. I to have enjoyed reading all you have put done on the pages of white. I will go back to tel you know how they make me feel. I like to take it all in and toss it about then write what I feel what it's all about...

Hope to find one and all in the best of health. As I spread out my wings to take another flight. Not knowing for sure where this will be going. I do hope you all will read what my mind and eye's as well as my heart feel as they all work for me. From me to you I will try my best to get you to read what my fingers type. I know you will feel so much in what I write. As I have been told I have the soul of a poet and a heart of gold. I don't have a particular style of writing, juas anything that pops into my head at any given time.
I write poetry and prose, although to be honest i have always struggle to distinguish one from the other.
I also write short stories, and have one novel finished.
this has taken with all of the editing and reediting , about ten years, the length of time that i have been writing.
Would be glad to hear your opinion.

If you are reading this comment then let me ask you a question. Why do you write? If you are like me you write because you want people to read what you have written. Another question; How would you like to have your books in one of the largest libraries on the internet? Don’t tell me, I know the answer. Who wouldn’t?
Well my friend you are in that library now. One nice thing about it is that you can leave your books on the shelves and it doesn’t cost you a thing.
I didn’t come here to get published I brought my books here to be read and the nice thing about it is that I can present them My Way.

Pastelspring, I truly feel your loss, it has been two and a half years since I too lost my Mother. To this day I want to pick up the phone and call her, there are so many things I have to tell her.
Your wrighting is awsum it is truly from the heart and I share your pain. But just remember as I do, our Parents will always be in our Hearts.
I too carry many of the same traits that my Mother did, the way she loved everyone and was there through thick and thin. That is how she lives through me to this day. Just as you Father lives through you.

my father's eyes.....
I woke up on my forty fourth birthday,
twenty three years now,
since he went away
I carry alot of his traits,,
his depression, his manic creativity
Ill never forget the way he looked , that last day
crumbled business ventures,
wife castrated ,
unusually unsure,,
it wasn't until I looked in the mirror today
that I discovered that same look in my eyes....
without the valium pallor, or the gin blossoms
underneath
my father's blue deep set eyes
optimistic
and alive
I love you dad......

Thank you Pattimari, for deciding to weather the storm. I received your reply just before midnight it managed to top off my day. I have read your poem it shows feeling and you should be proud of it’s acclaim. I agree with what Tamara said, whom , by the way is an accomplished author. I guess what I’m trying to say, in a round about way, is that the weak will drag you down but the really great will encourage you to move on and reach your potential.
