The Shaning family has won the lottery. $225,000,000. Enough to propel them out of their mediocre life and into one of class, style, and expensive comfort. Finally, they can move out of their two bedroom apartment into a house that fits a family of five and give their three daughters everything they could have asked for... or so they thought. Only hours after the numbers have been drawn, Jacob and Susan Shaning are murdered in their own home and their ticket to financial freedom stolen. When their daughters (Mallory, Tatum, and Joleen) return home from their bi-weekly sister's day, they find their parents dead on the living room floor.
Left with only each other and the meager $200 that was left in the bank account, 18-year-old Mallory is forced to drop out of school, sell her car and care for her two younger sisters...
Which is what brings them to the door step of the richest family in the state, the Raysheens. In exchange for a place to sleep and food to eat, Mallory works for the Raysheen family, doing any tasks they give her, with 15-year-old Tatum and 10-year-old Joleen helping during any free time they have.
While the story of their parents' murder is no secret, the case remains a mystery and it seems that whoever killed them has ended his crime spree with their murder. That is until the perceptive Tatum begins examining the case with new eyes and discovers something that could blow the case wide open... and threats begin to descend upon the Shaning sisters.
Now, with the help of the Raysheens' twin boys, Clayton and Cliffton, Tatum must uncover just who is behind her parents' murder, before he strikes again and she loses the only people she has left in the world.
