The year is 490 A.D. and a farm boy named Jack escapes his ruined British village with his friend Tom. Blaming the marauding giant Oggmagog for all their woe the boys kill the giant with a cunning ruse devised by Jack. His cleverness brings him to the attention of the dying King Arthur who asks Jack to go on a quest to Albion, land of the giants, to retrieve his stolen sword Excalibre from the giant Boltish in his gigantic castle and save the whole of Britain from ruin. Along the way Jack's only help are Arthur's enchanted boots and armor and the advise of the shape changing wizard Merlin, who seems to have underhanded plans of his own that keeps Jack looking over his shoulder. Meanwhile, back at home, Tom becomes caught in the web of the evil witch Myadya who wants nothing more than to steal Merlin's wand and take control of the kingdom.
