Wow. . .I always did wonder about ole Jack. From the story standpoint, there is not a thing I can think of that would improve this tale and your method of weaving it. It feels good to read and that's all I care about. Now I haven't finished it, but I wanted to get a vote in since I'm short on time too. Oh, and the descriptions were great as to the clothing, the construction of the homes, etc. All important to the story, but you did it nicely so I didn't lose interest as I read. Well, you got my vote so Good Luck.

The book is only recently finished and there are bound to be mistakes, and I think I just like the way some sentences sound, even if they are not grammatically correct. Since it's a fairly tale I like the narrative to feel more like it was being told out loud, and I think people are more roundabout when they speak, sometimes redundant. But your advice is appreciated and sometime soon I will go over the whole thing carefully, right now I'm not able to spare the time.

Wuezli -- I read a bit more of this today.

Yesterday, I mostly read Chapter 15. I do like the story, and your writing style, but the book does need a bit more proofreading and editing by you before it is ready for copy-editing by others.

For example: "Jack realized that [delete: had] if Boltish was strong enough to stand up once again he could possibly [Omit: do exactly what he was trying to do and] collapse the church right down on his head."

"He had to do something fast, but it was right then that Boltish desperately changed his strategy." -- separate into 2 sentences. "He had to do something fast. At that moment, Boltish switched his strategy in a desperate attempt . . . "

You need to read through it all, sentence by sentence, and word by word, and decide whether each sentence says exactly what you as the author want it to say.

I have enjoyed the first chapter, It's the type of tales you want in book format, I'd like to curl up on the sofa with a steaming cup of chocolate, wrapped in my fleecy blanket whilst it's chucking it down outside.

I just started it, and I wasn't able to finish all of it, but I am very intrigued. i will definitely be back to rea the erst. I like the way the introduction pulls you into it and makes you want to read more. it reminds me of Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. There is room for improvement but I think you are a talented storyteller.
