With great catastrophe comes great loss. After one particularly cataclysmic day, the world lost a village; the guild of archers lost their home; and the remnants of Payon lost both friends and allies. Mist, Lemnear, Ashton, and a few others lost much more, though.

After years of suffering through her solitude, Mist yearns to regain a fragment of her lost past. She abandons both her new home and life, and through her searches she finds the one thing she thought she lost when the beasts and demons flooded her little village: Family.

As stated before, this story is written for my guild members on Ragnarok Online (which, despite my age, I still play.)

Knowledge of the game isn't particularly necessary, though it will be easier to understand some of the oddities in the story if you're familiar with it. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, I don't suggest you embrace it. The game is evil; It'll steal your time and eat your soul. It's fun, though. It's really fun with the right crowd.

I have taken certain liberties with the mechanics of the game in transferring them to this story. To put it simply, if there's something in the game that I thought wouldn't fit well for a story, chances are I've modified it to make it acceptable.

One further note: All characters present are creations of their respective players. I claim no ownership over any of them, and by and large, their use is with the original players' consent. (Where unobtainable, I've assumed they'd be alright with it.) If you're one of the people that are included in the cast of the story, and you don't wish to be included anymore, simply tell me and I'll do what I must to appease you.
