FIVE STORY DOGHOUSE
After receiving his first library card, a young child is whisked away on a magic carpet ride that soars beneath the many covers of books and nestles between the many pages of stories. He feels like a king who has just been handed the keys to the castle, or more affectionately known as the Public Library.

Accolades all the way for this storry. Loved the beginning, middle AND end! I've love to read more library adventures!!
I loved the repetition because I could join in. I liked the predictability throughout yet was totally surprised at the ending! How creative combining imagination, math skills, and humor. Way to go
How wonderful! Everyone who reads this exceptional, creative story will imagine how they would have designed the plot and conclusion in their very own way! Special writing for special reading!
what a surprising ending and i love the emphasis on imagination, reading and responsibility. A lot to be gained from this contagious read.

What a great story- especially for a dog lover like myself. It made me want to go to the library!
Want to head out to the library! Priceless just like reading and library cards...
You are a very good writer I love your style. I voted for you please vote for my book "King Loverr: Diary of a Philosophical Loner.
This book will be great at inspiring young people to take advantage of all the knowledge that is available to them in literature!
write more it will be great childrens book make sure all children read thanks mike
I enjoyed the book although i thought that the repeating got a little bit tiring. I loved how he said he had the keys to the kindgdom and i also loved how every family member was invited to speek. At the begining of the story when I read the title I was incredibly confused but now I no that you truly have to read the whole story to appreciate it or else you won't understand. I loved how at the end the dog got his own library card so to speek. You used great words and it was a great story can't wait to read it to my sister and friends awesome job Aunt Jayne. :-) :-)
The advice to clearly define the age of the narrator and to edit the verbage to agree with that is right on the money. Also, I understand the point of the reps; however, changing the subjects and places, the details would keep it more interesting. I too would have liked to have met the dog sooner, the title kept me wondering the whole time I was reading; "where's the dog."
Very cute story. So it's repetitious, it's a child's book, it's not for us old people!
I enjoyed this story, but I agree with others that there is too much repetition. The repetition feels like something aimed at very young children, while some of the other language, like: "I felt like I was playing a villain in one of my very own mystery book. But this was really happening. It was nonfiction." and "This was my big moment to win back my lost confidence, regain my credibility and prove that I could be responsible." are definitely more mature. I think this would be improved if you decided exactly how old the narrator is and altered the voice accordingly.
Losing a book each time sets the mystery well. Yes, you want the riddle solved. But the redundancy made it hard to get there. Changing the favorite books and favorite places to read throughout would have added a little spark to push the story to its conclusion, which I enjoyed.
This is a charming book. I realize that repetition in children's books is a good tool, but I do feel that this book has a bit too much of it, as I was skipping over entire paragraphs since I already knew what they said without reading it. The repetition would be best utilized in a way that makes you want to read those same words again, rather than skip them to get on with the plotting. And the plotting itself starts to get redundant - you know of course the character will not be returning all of his library books. Perhaps you could incorporate the mystery of this and the frustration to the main character earlier on in the book. And it might be good to introduce the dog's character earlier on as well. Obviously the title of the book gives you a clue there is a dog involved, but you never see the main character or his family interacting with it earlier.
This is my kind of story, just plain fun, exactly what I was looking for today.
Very well written and cute. However, it was just a little long I thought. Could be just as "surprising" without so much repetition.
I was, pleasantly, surprised. What a wonderful story. I, too, could relate to the "hero". The public library was my refuge, my escape during a troubling childhood.
I felt like I was the King of tthe castle after reading this story. Its so cute and endearing. The author REALLY has a gift for writing; kudos to her!!!!!!!!
Awesome! It brought back how much I enjoyed getting my first library card. Nicely done!
This one better be published as it's an inspiration for all children to want to READ!
This story encourages children to read... which is the foundation of a good education!!! Great story!!!!
My children LOVED 5 Story Doghouse. It was like reading a mystery, humor and math book all rolled into one. A book about the love for books- ingenius. My kids were reciting out loud on all the places the main character read and all the types of books he borrowed and all the positions he read in. It was predictable yet totally surprising. A great "read"!
