they're what people for centuries have called 'elves', but as Agrin comes to realise, they are as human as she and just as complex and flawed. Their race is split into two oppositions, and it is these two sides that throw Agrin and her brother Aodhan out of their middle-class comfort and into the conflicts of a race of people long-fantasised about.

Agrin lives with her brother and father in relative comfort. Motherless, and with a distant father, the two siblings have come to rely on each other for companionship. Their little world is disturbed when they are attacked by mysterious forces in the woods.
Agrin's relationship to her brother Aodhan is in question, while Aodhan's whole existence as a middle-class blacksmith's apprentice and the son of a businessman is no longer clear.

I have only just joined Webook but I've bookmarked this to come back and read as your introduction has drawn me in and your subject matter is something I'm fascinated with.
A good introduction as it gives just enough information to make you want to read it.

Ok, I changed the summary of this, because people have been thinking I'm using elves in their usual cliched form. I know, I know, I did call the elves, but at the time I was really at a loss at a summary.

Anyway...age group. Late teens and up? Generally late teens to 30, I guess, although i know people older who have read things like this.

Agrin is 15 and Aodhan 23/24. Being the middle ages, I thought this was reasonable... anything older and they'd have to be married with kids and possibly grandkids!
What do you think?
