God and the Other
“How can you be bored?” Shawn insisted angrily. “You’re learning things Indiana Jones would give his right testicle to hear!”
Sebastian is an underachieving teenager, whiling away his hours in his best friend Shawn's fantasy world of elves and RPG’s, or so he thinks, but when suddenly confronted by the Angel who has hunted him for eons, his lackluster reality dissolves into searing migraines, ghostly visitations, and memories of the ancient past. GIVE FEEDBACK
I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who voted for this project. I know it didn't win, but don't be discouraged. I'll be pursuing other avenues, as I'm quite sure it will never be accepted here, even if it was resubmitted. Please check out my other stuff if you have time, or leave me feedback. I do love the feedback. Thanks a million!
And for you rabid fans, I'm very sorry, Please don't splatter the webook staff with your spittle, but take your slavering rumps off somewhere else to lick your wounds...and mine as well. The fact is that this is a work that requires a passionate editor/publisher who sees the goal and aspires to it also. Webook is just not the place for this. They have their aims, and while they open up a two-way line of communication, that doesn't mean they actually want to be questioned about their decisions. They have reasons for them, and though we disagree...ehem...no hard feelings.
Right now I'll take myself back to the drawing board. I have six books finished. I'm sure that with some good editing, at least one of them will get my foot in somewhere, and maybe the world isn't ready for Go and the Other just yet. Que Sera Sera, not everyone wants to question reality. (that sounded bitter)...
As it is, I probably won't submit to further voting cycles. But the work will be up here at least in part to help me out.
Thanks again!
Kristina

Keep trying with this book in other outlets-- it certainly should be published if Webook doesn't snap out of it and see the amazing potential of the work and the cult-like following it obtained through the voting process. Kristina Meister, I am a fan, and I wanna see this on the shelf!!!
Message me when you get this, Ms. Meister -- I might be able to refer you to a two pretty good agents in NY who might like this...

May the force be with you, even though U R SO a Sith lord! I loved all the references. Found myself laughing. Especially at the one about the paper bag and star trek. At least star wars never said anything so stupid. But ok ok, we do have magical bacteria, WHICH I SAW IN THIS BOOK LMAO!!!!!
Shawn is my hero, and if he's really based on your friend, I wish I could have met that guy, because he sounds so fucking cool.
So, I just have this to say to the WEBOOK STAFF- We R a large group, we geeks, we may be scrawny, or fat, or even pockmarked, but we are strong AND we all have great tech jobs, meaning that we shop at thinkgeek.com and spend our money on green lasers, or lava lightsabers (own two) If you are wise, like yoda, you will market this book in all places geek. I will also say this: I don't think non-geeks realize this, but there are SOOOOOOOOOO many of us (and we breed contrary to popular belief about our sexlives) that to think this has a limited audience would be a GRAVE MISTAKE.
Hurrah for Kristina!

I, Thursias, bane of webookers, just wanted to give my final thoughts, prior to the end of the vote:
This book is by far, and I mean by far, the best submission in this voting cycle. It is my number 1 pick for publication, and the Only Book I would have pre-ordered if the option existed. I want this in hardback.
There are several reasons for this:
1) There are only 3 books that I have read in this voting cycle that are not in need of massive editing, if not complete re-writes. This book requires, as near as I can tell, no additional editing.
2) This book is massively entertaining, and the only book in the voting cycle that I read cover-to-cover.
3) This author is clearly a genius. She has researched several fields in considerable depth, and presented beautiful jewels from the depths of hard science with absolutely remarkable felicity and grace.

This brilliant novel is reminiscent of J.K. Rowling. I especially love the part where there is an angel because it reminds me of Jesus Christ. Just like this book...Jesus Christ it is good. I hope one day to meet you and massage your feet, if found inappropriate then a book signing will suffice. Thank you for your work you made my life.
not since charles dickinson has there been such a great writer!! one of the hottest books of 2008!! Kristina Meister has done it again!! One of the best romance novels of the year! You'll keep laughing till your head rolls off! This book will keep you on the edge of your mothers breakfast nook!!!

Yay i am finally here to cast my vote. Having read that last comment, I glanced down, and omg, what the hell? How can a person not see that content ties into genre. If you don't like a genre, then you can't comment on content. The only commenting a person can do outside of genre is to talk about mistakes. No mistakes=100% cool book inside the genre. I mean that's like going onto a superman page and remarking that you don't like that he can fly, or find it hard to believe he wears a red cape!
Anyway, this book is really good, not just because the characters are so realistic (I mean, i think I went to highschool with those guys), the plot is also an original take on something so many people have tried to do. Your Devil is so much more "ancient" than the others. He ACTS like an ancient person would act. I mean seriously, if the Devil had been around as long as people think, then he'd be way less inclined to involve himself in the kind of ridiculous shinanigans (spelling?) than you see in movies like the Omen. Publish now so I can buy my copy!!! If they don't publish this book, then I have lost faith in all things literary and will now boycott books!

amazing. i love this book for many personal reasons, including simple relating. but even all those aside, the writing is truly wonderful.
Gooooood Evening. Tonight's entertainment consists of a very rare find: a book classified under the auspices of science fiction/fantasy, but in reality, a book of science. Will the public will prevail and have this book published? We shall see, in tonight's episode of (dun-dun-dun) VOTE FOR God and the Other (Insert Hitchcock music and profile here)
Rock the Vote KrisMeister!!!
You are SOOOO awesome! I hope you get published girlie, your book is the coolest thing I've read in a while. Truly original. I'm upset that none of the agentds you've submitted to have seen the amazing quality of this work! Best plot ever and the dedication made me cry remembering Shanus!
Peace out!

Hey there Kristina! Finally here to cast my vote!
Beyond initial publication, this should be a movie! Or an anime series! Please god, an anime series.

Wow, what an ending. I love that they ended up together. Also, heck of an idea for a corporation. Also, does Estrella Corp reference the "Day Star" from the Bible?
Shawn is now one of my favorite characters in literature. This author writes in a style that is both detailed and fluid. She reminds me of my own personal favorite, Niel Stephenson. Intense. I feel pulled into the world. I've just finished book 1...on to book 2!
Hi Kris! Just wanted to let you know I read it finally! I can't believe you haven't got agents beating down your door! I read the comments on your book and the others, and I'm amazed that you have NO negative comments. Everyone has some, but you have NONE. No corrections that haven't been explained. it truly is as clean as you said it was! Aesome job! Give me a call later!

This book is written for a very specific audience, i.e. those of us who watch things like robot chicken on the cartoon network or shop at places like "Hot Topic". It is clear from your post that you are not one of these people, which might, in turn, color your reading of this. While I appreciate your glancing over this story, I feel that your criticism of the jokes is invalid. I am not going to change them, as they draw in the exact type of person I want to capture and exclude: those that may not even enjoy the book. I never intended such an exchange to be "lighthearted" I intended it to illustrate the personality of the character, his sarcasm and his disillusionment with the world.
A person may not like the painting "dogs playing poker" but it is a technically proficient painting, just as any Monet. Both are art, even if the viewer does not appreciate one as much as the other. it may just be that you would not enjoy it as much as some.
Many of the greatest classics deal with subjects that are difficult to address, many of them deal with them overtly in strong language. I have taken a great deal of time to tailor this work to achieve a certain effect, and if you could read it in its entirety, I believe you would see that.
Thank you for taking a look. Please know that the tone of the speech is the character speaking, that it illustrates the character's ideas and feelings, and that as such, Sebi is something of an anti-hero, quite intentionally.

Good luck with publication. I like what I've skimmed over. I hope to read more as time allows.
Kristina --
You are obviously a talented writer, but the characters and issues that you have chosen to bring to life don't appeal to me. Of course, I expect that I am not in your target audience.
I did enjoy the exchanges between Sebastian and his look-alike sisters -- classic sibling rivalry. Having grown up with three brothers and sisters, I immediately related to their skirmishes. ;-)
Chapter One seemed to get off to a slow start, and improved once Sebastian started moving through his day. Shortly thereafter, you lost me -- while he was talking to the server in the coffee house.
As soon as I got to the following exchange, the images you created caused me to stop reading:
She laughed her cadenced hiss and finished by clicking her tongue ring across her teeth. “I’m just gonna join a cult, hack up my genitals, and get a bowl haircut; so, you can have my job, kay?”
He laughed, “Tell the truth, you’ve already hacked up your genitals, haven’t you?”
I know that you intended the exchange to be light-hearted and humorous; however, to many readers, the idea of genital mutilation is the antithesis of light-hearted and humorous banter.
Despite not appealing to my tastes, you seem to have acquired a fan base for your writing. Good Luck! nancy

I just got to the physics. This is awesome. Did the write study physics in college, read a lot, or get a consultant or all of the above? Everything is explained with a greater clarity than any textbook I read in college. I now feel that I understand quantum tunneling a little better, and I'm a physicist!
The 'theoretical' or 'sci-fi' aspects are magnificent as well... much more believable than nearly any other fiction I've read (right up their with William Gibson, except foundational instead of techy).

Thank you so much for this project. It has been a while since I found something that I didn't want to stop reading. Good luck!
This is one of the most refreshing stories, I have read in such a long time. Your choice of words and phrases are perfect Please Publish this!!! I would love to buy my own personal copy!
@ HenryEarle
LOL, as long as you pay for it. I mean, I'm not buying everyone a copy, but if you buy it, I'll sign it. But let's not get ahead of ourselves ok? I mean, I'm only #8 on the list, and it's all up to the decision of the staff on what they think has a market. Thanks for the encouragement!

so, when this thing gets published do we all get autographed copies if we voted yes?
Thanks for the heads up lightbrite, I'll go read that link you sent. I don't know if I ever really thought about publishing with webook. I sort of just thought of it as a cool thing to get the work out and see what the response would be. I appreciate your criticisms, even the ones you make on other works. I know you've been getting a lot of, shall we say, hate for your comments, but honestly I get where you're coming from. If i had your job I'd be pissed off and venting too, lol. Anyway, thanks again for those edits you sent me; i'm going to make them on my copy.
Don't sweat it, chica. Your honesty is a good thing and authors who can't take it will never improve. If I had cussed out or flipped off every person who told me how to spell a word or have good diction, I would never have finished this book. Nor would I have been able to represent my ideas properly. You can be harsh, but that's what I like about you. You're what I call astringent. I feel like my skin is getting thicker already!
I am posting this in comments too, just so you are partially vindicated. The way I see it, I've gotten all the positive votes of the posted webookers that I'm going to get, so I feel fine letting my feelings on this subject become public knowledge. Also, i would like to say that I too have noticed the rather LARGE number of blank profiles voting for everybody's works; however I would like to say that a good many of the fans who have voted for or commented on my work came from the other areas of the internet. They came to vote for me and my book and didn't put up details. i have written to them to ask them to do this, so that if it comes down to a question of legitimacy, their votes will be counted. I just thought I might mention that others may have the same problems.
I think cheating is despicable. Cheating, as you said before, won't help anyone, because the webook staff will see the quality and decide on that.
Thanks again, I'm glad I wrote to you.

I would like to say that I've read the webook.com contract. it's HORRIFYING. My advice is to NOT publish your work here.
The way this author writes Sebi's ordeal with ideopathic migraines is intensely real.
Sebi's friendship with Shawn is palpably authentic and infinitely likable.
I am floored by this work. On to book two!

I've been trying to read at least some fraction of the novels in this voting process, but most of them I just can't get through the first chapter. Sadly, a lot of stuff on webook just isn't ready for publication. Having said that, holy hell is this an exception. I can't believe this book isn't published! I was sucked in by the first few sentences, and have now missed several hours of work due to obsessive reading. I adore and identify with the characters, and am enraptured by the thick and enticing melange of pop culture, americana, and chat-speak that braid together to give this book a real and visceral feeling despite its imaginative and ingenious sci-fi elements. Rock on Sebi! I hope Shawn gets super-powers...
I would love it if readers would let me know what they think of the vote zone chapters. Also the third book is my fav, so let me know how you like the ending.
NEGATIVE VOTED MEAN NOTHING NOW, SO ONLY VOTE THIS DOWN IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT PLEASE. IT'S IMMATURE AND STUPID. VOTE WHAT YOU LOVE AND IF YOU READ THIS YOU MIGHT LIKE IT. THERE'S MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM FOR EVERY GOOD WORK, SO PLEASE DON'T BE A JERK
Kristina- even though you are major competiton for me in this contest, I have to give credit where it's due, so I'm voting for you. You are a very polished and professional writer and I can see why you've gained such a following. Good luck to you! Also, I find it a weird coincidence that we both allude to Dante's Inferno in our first chapters... interesting...
Very well written. Despite the fact I'm not much into teeny-angst stuff (i was never an angsty teenager...) but this was interesting as were the characters, due to the quality of the writing and the idea. And I love a good demon.....
Have to vote for this!
Have to vote for this!
It's got my vote and I've only gotten through the vote zone, but wow chapter 23....holy shit. I can't believe this isn't published yet!
Hi,
I've been keeping an eye on the poles and on the works for which I voted. I've noticed that it is quite plain that the best works are receiving the most negative votes, simply because others feel their chances are threatened. There might even be some cross-negative voting, ie, your fans voting negatively on other books, so I thought you'd like to know the following. Please read it and let your fans know that they need not vote negatively to get your work published! i received this email from Melissa, the site coordinator after emailing her my thoughts and feelings about the negative vote.:

I've posted about this in the WEbook forums; check it out here: http://www.webook.com/forums/messageIndex.aspx?topic=cce7e374128946999b9c4baca1e2e360&fview=true
We did not anticipate the kind of negativity and unscrupulous voting that we've seen. We will likely not include negative votes in the final tally.

Hey Melissa! I am writing because, as I'm sure are many we-booker's, I'm concerned about the 'negative voting'. People are clearly just voting every project (other than their favorite) down without reading the material. This is really disappointing, and I am a little bewildered as to how this clearly inevitable outcome might not have been anticipated.
Is there any talk of eliminating this feature prior to the end of the election? This is becoming a really hostile process, and it seems clear that given the "negative voting" mechanism, the results of this voting process will be impossible to interpret.
How will you select the top 10%? What will determine that ranking from which you will select a work or works? The highest % positive will of course be books only voted on a few time. Will you ignore the negative votes at that point?
In any case, I just wanted to express my profound disappointment at this process. I would love to know to what purpose the negative voting information will be put, as I would sleep better at night. Right now my favorite webook books are getting crushed under the negative weight, and it is tragic.

This is one of the most incredible things I have ever read. This has changed the way I think about the world. The only books I have ever read that have changed my life as this one has have been non-fiction, such as "Godel Escher Bach" and "The Selfish Gene". I am your devoted fan forever. Publish this book.
I loved it, first time a read a book that had religion and science together and did not bore me but intrigued me thnks for the hard work
BEFORE YOU VOTE, PLEASE READ AT LEAST THE FIRST CHAPTER, THE TOP TEN % WILL NUMBER 50 SOMEODD BOOKS, WHICH MEANS YOUR FAVORITE CAN BE ON THE LIST BESIDE MINE. sO PLEASE READ! YOU MIGHT ENJOY. IF AFTER YOU READ IT, YOU STILL WANT TO VOTE NO, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME.
Once I started--I couldn't stop reading. Can't wait until it is published and I can add it to my collection and read it again and again! WOW!
I really enjoyed reading this work of art. The way you were able to not only bring the story's plots and interests alive, but also your writting style was excellent. I am very interested and hope for the publish of this book. Thank you and good luck :)
I was really enjoying the story, until I got to the symbols. It throws things quite a bit.
Go mischief go!!! Negative voters suck! I'm writing to the site! You should too if you think this is unfair
Webook is stupid if they allow this to happen. Negative votes are lame. This book must be published, it's to good to leave floating out here
Wow. Best ending ever. Thanks for posting this incredible work! I will pick up a copy in hardback. Incredible.

The only thing better than this book would be a gold plated dog...and that's saying something...publish it!
Woohoo! the vote finally comes and I can cheer for this book! I've been so anxious waiting to see it meet the world! Way to go to webook for spotlighting it! Publish it now!
I teach science to Freshmen. I would use this as a textbook. It's fantastic. Webook.com would be remiss to overlook it!
I would just like to say that I came on webook.com to vote for this book. I have already read it before it was on this site and cannot believe it has not yet been published. I would like to be able to go into detail about all the reasons I love this work, but I find that there are so many I can't name them all. It is seldom that I find a work with so many aspects of consideration, philosophical, scientific, and theoretical. This book IS an education, as people have said on here previously, wrapped up in a witty, sarcastic, but touching and emotional package. This has a tremendous back story as well that a reader can see from the dedication. and for those of you concerned about negative votes against this project made by ignorant idiots who believe they are helping themselves, it is not the vote that matters, but the fact that there are ONLY positive comments here, meaning that the negative votes gave no real opinions or reasons for their negativity, which illustrates that they are simply, as you said it, HATERS. I am sure the staff has taken this into consideration, and as the project has the spotlight already, I am also sure it is already being looked at critically. As long as the author maintains her excellent perspective and is willing to accept criticism and rwork the book with the editors of whatever publishing company with which she does business, I am certain she will be given a contract.
Please do not throw about negative remarks, even if you are upset that it has been voted down. The fact is that the work speaks for itself and is remarkable.
I am proud of you Kristina. This book has progressed so much since you gave me your first draft and you are an infinitely better author. Looking at your drafts now, they need almost NO editing. You have an eye and soul for storytelling. You will create a new genre/fanbase and I hope that Webook can see what a marketting smash your work could be.

I was hooked after the first page. I am now bleary eyed and exhuasted, but I've read it. Amazing. Unlike 99% of books our there, this one is completely ready to go. Send it to the presses, give the world it's next mega-hit. Publish it, because one day, I want to see the movie.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. No one has ever hit my philosophical nail on the head so accurately.
This is an incredible book! A humanist education, from mathematics, to physics, to philosophy and religion. If you read the first page, you will read the first chapter. If you read the first chapter, you will miss a day of work reading entire work. Publish it!
Everyone,
Saying that because I had criticism with it I am a "hater" who is promoting my work shows that you don't understand how this site works. It does not have to make the top 10% to be picked. If you have a personal issue with my criticism, please message me, but do not insult me because I have an opinion that differs from yours.
Voting other people's works down to improve your own vote does NOT work because you do NOT need to have a large amount of votes to be published. It is merely an aiding factor. Likewise, someone else not being published does not increase your chances.
Thank you to the ONE person who took the time to politely contact me about why they disagreed on my opinion on the first chapter. Please be assured I will continue to read when I have more time, but to insult me in this way is not only rude but will discourage other people from trying to give constructive criticism. Is that not the purpose of the site?

Negative votes based on dishonesty are evil. This site was seriously mistaken for arranging the vote in this way. Vote "thumbs up" on this book. The author is fucking brilliant.
If you don't like that the vote has come down to a negativity contest, write Melissa, the site coordinator, because this is stupid. You guys are awesome for voting for me.
p.s. who the hell is hating on your book?
they should post the profiles so we can see who votes yes or no...screw anonymous voting and make people truly accountable for their opinions...;0)

I can't believe how stupid the site coordinaters are to make this vote this way! what a stupid stupid error.
this is a good book it should get published. i would buy it its great.................
DONT vote this down, read it and you may find you would LOVE to buy it! If people keep strategically voting then EVERYONE's gonna end up having only a tiny positive rating! Not to mention that the whole thing is in favor of group projects! jesus this is a stupid way to do a vote! this book is the best, and I'm sorry, but Shawn and Sebi 4 life! if you cant see how cool this book is, then you're an idiot.
How many of the other jokers on this site have their own fanbase already? This book is awesome and I've been waiting for it to be published for a year now. I'm pissed off that people would try to vote it down. Get a life and vote for the stuff you've read, and stop voting things down just because you're too stupid to write a good book.
This book inspires me, but the fact that people would vote it down because they want their book to be considered (when it should probably be worked on longer) destroys my faith in my fellow man. LET THIS BOOK HAVE THE SUCCESS IT DESERVES, and go back to work on your own stuff till it's this good. If WEbook doesn't do right by this author, I'll never come back. so FEW of the other works up for the vote are anywhere near this level of refinement that it boggles my mind that they'd put them up for the vote in the first place. I mean how many poems do I have to read before I say ENOUGH...you're all just whining anyway! How many vampire books do we really need!? This book DOES SOMETHING TO THE READER that I have NEVER encountered before. Go Meisty, you've done well!
Well, I think it's sad that this is getting so many negative votes. And I think it's sad that this seems to be turning into a contest of who can out negative vote the other guy, so let's please not make it about that. This book is incredible and needs to be out there on shelves
better than any of the recent books ive read on bookshelves, even...omg harry potter....*gasps* i know huh, im sacreligious....but in terms of quality, this is SOOOOO way better.........haters suck
I AGREE! THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMMEDIATELY PUBLISHABLE BOOKS ON WEBOOK, HATER VOTES WILL ONLY SHOW WHO IS A JERK AND WHO ISNT. THIS BOOK IS EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!! GO Kristina GO!
This is one of the best things I have ever read. Down votes can only come from individuals who've not read it, gaming to try and get other works ahead. This book is incredible, more refined and immediately publishable than ANYTHING ELSE ON WEBOOK. By far and away.
DONT VOTE NEGATIEVLY FOR THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVENT READ IT! THAT WOULD BE ALLOWING BAD THINGS TO GET PUBLISHED WHEN THIS AUTHOR'S WORK IS STUNNING. FINISH IT OR LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ IT. DON'T BE A JERK
I disagree with tahrasep...they obviously are just going around dissing works that are doing well because they want someone else (probably them) to win. This book is fantastic, and there's no way they could tell structural problems from this first chapter. They should read the book before they dis it. The way this vote is set up is stupid. Kristina deserves publication, and the person commenting negatively should have the guts to admit that their work isn't as good and let accomplishment surpass them so that they can work harder on their stuff and eventually reach the same level. if Webook doesn't publish this book, this site is fixed.
While the plot sounds promising, I think this needs far more in-depth work with your structure and characters. The first half of the chapter was very tough to get through - cardboard-like characters, not deep enough into his mind to make me interested or the slightest bit sympathetic. Your typical morning wake-up is so overdone, that I did not get drawn in until:
“So it is,” came a pliable voice on the artificially circulated air. The tenor was strange, almost ethereal. It was the kind of voice anime characters had when they spoke important truths. He turned slowly, every nerve ready to run, and discovered a young man in black.
Now THAT is where you hit jackpot. I couldn't stop reading this section. I HAD to know what happened next. Start en media res - get in the heart of the action. Start us with that episode and then backtrack in the next chapter if you must to explain this. That is where the action is, and I suggest you consider starting there and taking your time to flesh out this whole encounter to make us extremely aware of what we're going to expect should we keep turning the pages.
Likewise, your main character - doesn't care about anything, hates everything, smart-ass even in the face of extreme danger - feels like a stereotype. I didn't care about anything he said. Make me care. Make him more human right off the bat - and let us SEE what he dislikes about everything! Don't tell us, show us. Give us more thoughts, explore his insecurities and worries and theories based on what is going on through his mind in this bizarre scenario he's fallen into.
This has promise, but as of this first chapter I do not think it is ready yet. Keep working on it, play around, and experimenting. I look forward to reading more.

You're seriously not published already? Wow, I look forward to seeing this on the shelf someday. Nice job indeed...
This is the first well written submission I've read (apart from my own, ahem)... I feel like I just read a sample of the eventual winner, not wanting to jinx anything. Nice job.
i judy love it o my name is different then my youtube account im darksoulgaara so yea
... WoW ... its absorbing ... i like it ..plz publish it !!! I would like to hold it in my hands!!!
Great fiction with sound reasoning. It is obvious the author has an extensive knowledge of the Bible including the books that were not included when the church edited it.. The author is well versed in the latest scientic knowledge of quantum mechanics. I love a great story with real facts and science. This makes it worth reading and considering when one then looks at what is beleived or taught to be true.
I reread it after considering it and it just got better. I would love to be able to buy it and recommend it to others.
What will the author write next? I want to read it - waiting to see.

This book is so good I can't believe it. How is this not published?! This book is above and beyond any Published work I have read in years. Publish it!
This is now my favorite book. Read it, it's unbelievable. If it doesn't get published, I have lost my faith in humanity.
One more thing I would like to say about your novel. If a novel has staying power with me, I think it is a great novel. I enjoy some novels I read, but they fizzle out of memory after I finished with in a day or two. If someone asks me about such a novel, I say, "Yeah it was a fun read. A good beach book. Good entertainment."
If someone asks me about a book like Dune, I say, “That book is one of the best books I have ever read, because months later the characters are still alive in my mind. I still find my self thinking about them and their struggles, but most of all I still think about the themes and little threads in the novel. The insights on the human condition.”
This is how I feel about God and the Other. It has staying power. There is so much depth to the novel, so much to ponder and think about. It has much to say about the human condition, and thus deserves to be read more than once, each time gaining knew knowledge. This is the kind of book you wish to own. I am not saying the story is as well told as Dune, but it is up there. If a publishing house wishes to edit it and change some things, I would let them, because the bulk of your deepness will remain.

i was in so much pain from chapter 26 on, b/c i had to pee and actually just kept clicking to get to the next chapter...
my bladder was happy it ended, but my heart/soul cries out for more...
sooooo amazingly good...loved the story and characterizations...i think you only need to really worry about some technical edits, etc. (which i didn't point out every one, b/c i got lost in the story)...so can help you with anything technical you want, and i promise to reread for clarity, etc., since i got wrapped up in the story, lol...
you WILL be published, i know it...the 4th dimensional gremlins will make it so...;)

Nice approach...and modern...using computer lingo that most of us use every day. Some of it could be fine tuned, just a bit clearer,....and you can make some of your zingers/points using less words...but overall a really fun read. I'm going to read more... :)
