Haiku: For You
What is Haiku? Its a Japanese poem that is composed of three lines. Each line has a certain amount of syllables. The first line is five syllables, the second, seven, and the third, five.
Often, they create a hallow feeling about one's self. However, they can cause an individual to feel renewed and have a different outlook on things.

Omg!
This project is sooo inspiring I think I just might have an offer for you.
If you ever think of publishing this little project, maybe I could help oyu with the cover? I've got a knack for digital arts and could help you out if you need to!
Ciao

Well, that's kind of true jejeje; defining is a way to standarize things for the people; if someone really knows somebody or something, trying to define such person or objetc would be useless, because all of the definitions that came up would give some sense of incompleteness; so, don't worry lady =D
Your definition of haiku is incomplete at best and in error at worst. While your fourth grade teacher and Webster use the 5-7-5 gibberish for haiku in English neither have bothered to study haiku (or more likely any poetic form.)
Why did you not mention the need for kigo in haiku? Because your Websters or your fourth grade teacher did not know about them!
as long as it's five
nothing else matters at all
that is just silly
The above is 5-7-5 but it has nothing what so ever in common with a haiku.
look for a website named ahapoetry to start learning about haiku. Read some poems by Basho the master of the form. Read Boson, Issa and Shiki. Learn what a kigo is and why it is important to haiku. Find out the difference between the Japanese "on" and the English syllable that makes 5-7-5 valid in Japan but not in English.
The haiku is a wonderful form and worth the study.
